Things We Learned With Van #1

There were things we LOVED and things we will change with Van #2!

Things we LOVED!

1- Portapotty

2- Having enough power we never had to worry about running out!  We had 640 watts of solar power with 500 amp hours of storage capacity. Plenty to run whatever we wanted!

3- The heater kicked butt! We were hot while it was freezing outside. It was nice for the dogs to be warm too!

4- We LOVED the layout of the van. The bed was longer so we both fit comfortably and never had to worry about our feet dangling off.

5- Dimable LED lights and plenty of them!

6- Sooo much storage space!

7- Larger fridge with small freezer.

Things we will do different on Van #2

1- Gas burner: was easy and nice but next time we will put a dual induction burner instead.

2- Counter: My husband is 5'10" and I'm 5'4". We didn't take into account selling the van to tall drivers. We built the back counter a little too close to the driver's seat. Next time we will put the seat all the way back with it slightly reclined for future, tall owners.

3- Although I loved the portapotty, next time we will put in an RV type toilet with a holding tank.

4- The small window in the back sucked! It had a screen with slider that moved up and down. It was very difficult to use. We will find a better brand and window to prevent this frustration.

5- We needed a bigger window near the back on the driver's side. There wasn't a lot of air flow back there. We've seen a few vans have something equivalent to a bay window. We will likely do something like that.

Overall, it was a success!!!
