One Pot Rice, Broccoli, and Cheese

This recipe is so easy, it shouldn't be called a recipe. It's not only great for a quick weekday meal, but so yummy at the end of the day!

Ingredients

1 and ½ cups calrose rice 
3 cups water
2 cups broccoli
8 ounces cheddar cheese
garlic salt
fresh ground pepper

Step ONE:

1 and ½ cups calrose rice

3 cups water

2 cups broccoli, chopped

Throw rice and water into a pan with lid. Bring to boil, add broccoli, reduce heat to low for 15- 20 minutes or until moisture infused in rice. 

Step TWO:

8 ounces cheddar cheese, grated

garlic salt 

fresh ground pepper

Stir broccoli and rice. Add cheese. Put in serving bowl. Add garlic salt and pepper to liking. Mmmh! Sooo Good!!!

Options:

Switch up your cheese flavor for a different spin! Pepper jack cheese is tasty as well as colby!

Mix in a few fresh diced tomatoes and green onions.

Tips:

For years I rinsed my calrose rice until one day, I asked myself why? It tastes equally as good not rinsing. Save yourself some time and skip this step.
