Dinah

Dinah was the first cat I've ever owned. She was fostered along with 4 of her siblings. All of the kitties ended up getting a deadly virus when they were just a few

weeks old. The mortality rate was high and we were told they likely wouldn't make it. My husband and I decided that wasn't an option. We forced them to eat every 2 hours (even through the night) for a couple of weeks to maintain their caloric intake and hydration status. We often had to give them subcutaneous fluids. They exhibited not only GI symptoms but neurologic symptoms as well. We helped them walk and helped them with physical therapy several times a day. They regained their strength and we thought we were in the clear. They then became sick again after being neutered and spayed. We went back to the 2 hour feeds and monitoring their intake and output. Dinah was the sickest after her surgery. She completely refused to eat and became very close to dying. I held her constantly and watched as she slowly recovered. We had such a special bond no home would've been good enough for her. We decided to keep her. She is a very sweet and loving cat. She will often follow me around seeing what I'm up to. She also teaches her 3 siblings (from a litter the following year) how to climb up on EVERYTHING!!!
